What kinds of therapy are avaliable
Group and individual analytic psychotherapy are suited to individuals who seek psychological insight to themselves and accept that the responsibility for change ultimately lies with oneself. It is an approach that is effective for:
- Recurring difficulties in personal or work relationships
- Feeling an outsider in groups
- Feelings of depression
- Persistent anxiety or panic attacks
- Abuse or trauma in childhood
- Psychosomatic illnesses
Couple psychotherapy provides a safe setting in which partners can be helped to explore and understand how they relate to each other and bring about change. It is based on the view that each person contributes somehow to the creation and maintenance of the difficulty in the relationship.
Couple sessions generally take place once weekly or fortnightly for one hour.
